On the wide prehistoric plains lived Benny the Brachiosaurus. His neck stretched so high that while other dinosaurs saw only grass and stones, Benny could see all the way to the horizon. At night he dreamed of touching a cloud. In the morning he liked to count how many hills his eyes could find.
One afternoon a quick storm rolled through. Rain splashed, the little creek swelled, and tall reeds swung like green curtains. When the thunder drifted away, the herd began to move—but a tiny duck-billed friend named Dottie was missing.
Benny lifted his head above the swaying reeds. From up high he spotted a small shape on a sandbar in the rushing creek—Dottie! The others couldn’t see her at all.
